Registration via the Internet: procedure for obtaining, documents and terms

Registration via the Internet

The traditional registration scheme involved a visit to the passport office or the MFC at the former place of residence to deregister, and then a visit to the passport officers in a new place.

With the advent of the opportunity to register in a house or apartment via the Internet, the procedure has been somewhat simplified.

However, it also has its own subtleties.

What is needed to obtain a residence permit via the Internet

The main pitfall is registration on the Single portal of public services.

Without it, you will not be able to use the online method.

In this case, you need an account with a confirmed status. In order to receive it, you need a special confirmation code.

It is issued after filling in all the necessary data on the public services portal in three cases:

  1. If you have a universal electronic card
  2. You have your own digital signature
  3. You will personally visit a branch of the Russian Post or Rostelecom, present your documents and order a confirmation code

A letter with a code comes by mail. Moreover, the wait can drag on up to a month. And only by entering this personal code, you will receive a confirmed account on the portal of public services. After that, registration of registration via the Internet will be available to you.

Documents required for registration

Documents for registration via the Internet

To register at the place of residence online, you need the same papers as with the classic method:

  • A document that proves your identity (passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation or a birth certificate, if you are registering a child)
  • Document-basis for moving in (certificate of registration of ownership; social tenancy agreement; court decision on the right to use housing; statement of the owner of a house or apartment, authorizing registration)
  • The departure sheet you received from the FMS at the previous address (if you went through the deregistration procedure)

Attention

Previously, if you were registered in someone else's apartment, you additionally needed permission from the owner of the apartment and his personal presence at the FMS. Now this rule has been canceled, which often causes abuse of the online service.

Usually, passport officers notify the owner that they want to register in his home. And if the applicant has not agreed on this point with the owner, the latter can cancel the registration if he does not agree with it.

All of these documents must be scanned in order to attach electronic copies to your online application.

The procedure for registration of registration via the Internet

Below we present you with step-by-step instructions describing the entire sequence of actions when obtaining registration at the place of residence through the portal of public services.

  1. Log in to the Unified Portal of Public Services and get access to your personal account with a confirmed status (if you do not have a verified account, get it)
  2. Go to the section "Public services", where you need to select "Registration at the place of residence / stay". Press the button "Get the service"
  3. Fill out the application form that appears. Be careful when entering data from documents - an error will lead to rejection of the application. Also, do not forget to fill in the information about the legal representative if you are registering a minor child at the place of residence.
  4. Attach scans of the necessary papers to the completed application: passport, foundation document, birth certificate, departure sheet
  5. Click the "Apply" button

After that, your online application will be forwarded to the territorial department of the FMS at the place of your future registration.

After processing the received data and making a positive decision, the passport officers will send you an e-mail notification of the need to appear at the passport office and provide the originals of the documents that you attached to the application.

It is important

The standard period during which you need to visit the FMS is three days. If you do not meet it, then the consideration of your application will be terminated, and the procedure will have to be repeated.

However, you can call the passport office and agree on another day if the three-day period does not suit you for good reasons.

The online application is also processed within three days. If you have not received a notification after this period, you have the right to file a complaint with the leadership of the territorial department of the FMS.

Other nuances

Other subtleties of registration via the Internet

When you come to the passport office and give the employee the originals of the documents, he must put a registration stamp in your passport.

If you register a minor under the age of 14, then his presence is optional - all actions are carried out by a legal representative (father, mother, guardian or guardian).

In this case, confirmation of registration at the place of residence will be a special certificate, which serves as an attachment to the birth certificate. However, if the child is already 14 years old, then he must sign the documents, so his appearance is necessary.

Citizens liable for military service will also be ordered to appear at the military registration and enlistment office for military registration at a new address. Of course, this obligation is canceled if you move within the same city or area.

Obtaining a residence permit via the Internet does not cancel the main rule for withdrawing / registering: you must receive a stamp in your passport about a new place of residence no later than seven days from the moment of moving. Otherwise, you face a fine of up to two thousand rubles.

By the way, it is not necessary to sign out from the previous address. When filling out the application form on the public services portal, you can indicate that you want to automatically deregister at the previous address. This is true for those who have moved from one city to another.

So, is it more profitable to go through the registration procedure at the place of residence via the Internet? If we take into account the period required to obtain a confirmed account on the website of public services, then the time costs are greater than with a personal visit to the FMS.

But at the same time, you will completely avoid long waiting times at the passport office. What is beneficial for busy people or parents who are forced to stay at home with their children. Nevertheless, in order to obtain a stamp in your passport, you still have to go to the FMS with your own feet and wait for your turn.
